SopraSolar
A membrane-welded solar mounting foot that fixes directly to Soprema waterproofing without roof penetrations.

SopraSolar is totally different from most biosolar systems because it doesn’t use ballast, it doesn’t sit on vegetation, and it doesn’t rely on heavy structural weight. Instead, the mounting pads are welded directly into Soprema’s roofing membrane. This creates a mechanically strong, non-penetrating anchor point for the solar rails. It’s incredibly clean and extremely reliable. For many architects and builders, it’s considered the safest flat-roof solar option available when using Soprema roofing systems.
This is brilliant for roofs with limited weight capacity — older buildings, lightweight steel frames, or refurb projects. Because there’s no ballast, the load is minimal. It’s also a great option when you want a very tidy finish with no movement risk. Everything is permanently attached, which means no shifting under wind or during thermal expansion.
But it's not truly a biosolar system on its own. You can combine SopraSolar with a green roof, but the primary design is for solar fixed directly onto membrane. If the client wants a proper vegetated biosolar layout, SopraSolar isn’t the strongest match. Another limitation: it only works on Soprema membranes. If the building has Bauder, IKO, Sika, etc., SopraSolar can't be used.
In short, SopraSolar is perfect when the priority is roof protection + lightweight mounting + no penetrations, not when biodiversity is the main goal.
