Diadem
An integrated bio-solar mounting system where the photovoltaic support structure is built directly into the green roof layer build-up. It delivers penetration-free solar installation while combining energy generation, water retention, and extensive roof greening in a single coordinated system

Diadem DiaSolar is a bio-solar mounting system designed to be fully integrated within the green roof build-up, rather than installed above it. The system combines photovoltaic panel support, water retention, drainage, and planting layers into a single modular solution, allowing flat roofs to deliver renewable energy while functioning as a high-performance green roof.
The system is penetration-free and relies on the weight of the green roof layers for ballast, removing the need for mechanical fixings through the waterproofing. Each DiaSolar unit incorporates an aluminium and HDPE console with an integrated water storage tray, providing up to 43 litres of water retention per unit to support vegetation health and contribute to sustainable drainage strategies.
DiaSolar is designed to optimise both solar performance and planting conditions. Panels are mounted with a minimum clearance of 300 mm above the substrate, reducing shading of vegetation while promoting airflow beneath the modules to limit heat build-up. Standard module inclinations of 10° are available, with optional 15° and 20° configurations, and the system is suitable for roof pitches of up to 5°.
The system is compatible with extensive green roof assemblies using sedum mats or seeded substrates and can also be configured for gravel roofs where required. Structural stability, ballast requirements, and spacing are calculated by Diadem in accordance with site-specific wind zones, ensuring compliance without compromising planting coverage or roof performance.
Manufactured from aluminium, stainless steel, Magnelis steel, and HDPE, DiaSolar offers durability, corrosion resistance, and long service life. The system is designed for uniform roof greening, avoids complex interconnections between mounting frames, and supports efficient installation and long-term adaptability of the roof space.
